PLEASE report any issues with the functionality / use of SD here. The sooner I hear about it the sooner I can resolve the problem and get the update out to any users so my progress depends on your input Razz

As a heads up, from here on out I will only be supporting SDv3 and later.

EDIT !

Please include the following information :

What operating system you are using, it will help with issues concerning any of the .ocx or .dll files.

Where you downloaded the setup file (hopefully from here).

What version of Slave Daemon, this can be found in the file properties window for the actual exe file.

Also,
Some issues with the script included in the setup program involved the delay before it tried registering the ocx and dll files, please attempt to manually run the "dllreg.vbs" file in the folder you installed Slave Daemon to before requesting help here.

few issues i'm having with Svd3
1) cant install it, can register file msvbvm60.dll, its there on my sysem32,but t wont detect it, tried downloading one, i need addmin permission, which is odd cos i am the admin on my laptop.
2)if i try and run slavedeamon not svd3 it says that chameleon.ocx, or something similar had a few issues, error in lines and characters.
3)the update for it just leads to a dead link.....
but yeah
looks good from screen shots just cant get it working.
help would be appreciated

Sounds as if you are running Vista, msvbvm60.dll might not register correctly, leave it in your system32 folder and copy it to the installation directory for slave Daemon.

I did not write prjchameleon.ocx, it is a third party active x file for VB6 that gives additional features for command buttons. Simply copying the ocx file to the installation directory (should be there by default if I remember correctly) and registering it with regsrv32 should work.

I have since corrected this, it was a simple typo in the link url. However, this isn't too terribly important because once SD runs it will check for an update automatically.

The dlllreg.vbs file extracts the other files from an archive in the installation directory. If it is telling you that it can't find the file go to the installation directory and run dllreg.vbs manually. It's a simple timing issue between the extraction of the files and when dllreg.vbs is run. Sometimes it works properly, sometimes it doesn't.

The update file is an exe, just renamed. Simply rename it to "SlaveDaemon.exe" and replace the old exe. Chances are that the version of SD you are using is the newest, unless it was before I switched web hosts. Keep in mind it has been years since I worked on SD, so some features may no longer function depending on how much SH has changed. I'm deployed again, so I may or may not have time to work on updating SD.

OK, i understand that part now but now i have another issue. when i installed SD i get an error about my dllreg.vbs

after running the dllreg.vbs it says SD is ready to use... when i open it to use a popup comes up.

Not sure how to fix that.

The dllreg.vbs is discussed in earlier posts. In short it's just a script that is supposed to automate the copying of the dll and ocx files to the windows system folder and registering them. This is buggy because some computers run the script before the files it will move are extracted from the archive, I don't know why because the self-extracting archive is not supposed to run it until after extravtion is complete. Simply open the folder you installed SD to and manually run dllreg.vbs. if you are running Win Vista or higher this is unnecessary as the files will need to stay in the installation directory to work.

SD was my first attempt at an self-extracting installation, so it was quite buggy.

As for the script error when using SD, I have experienced this as well. I have tried using several error checking methods to prevent it, with no success. It is due to SD using an IE6 core which apparently no longer parses the html of SH properly. This is saddening as it greatly hampers the functionality. Tonight I will have some downtime and will attempt to get a VM running so I can once again troubleshoot this issue. I haven't put much work into SD since these forums were so dead and I had no knowledge of anyone still using my program.

I look forward to the fix, I am addicted to SlaveHack along with a friend of mine, A long time ago you gave me and him a registration code. Forgot it since then but i would really love another one. Every time i start playing slavehack again i look for Slave Daemon. We have been useing Slave Utilities for greasemonkey for firefox but it does not have half the stuff Slave Daemon does. Thanks for all the help in getting this working properly.

You should have an email from me containing your registration codes, if not simply email me your email addresses at khristos666 @ gmail.com. There is no cost for this and there never will be. I understand the popup error make SD pratically useless at the moment, but patience will be required as I said I am deployed and working with a computer that doesnt support the programming environment I was creating SD with. That is why I will have to proceed with a cirtual machine.

The Upload feature of Slave Daemon is broken. It does not cycle through all of your slaves as it should, instead it continues to upload virii to the first slave in the slaves list. This has been duly noted and hopefully I can have it fixed tonight.
